 I just got out of the Hospital 4-17-08 for 10 day stay. I went in to the Outpatient department and Mazel had to help me get in the car.. I was really dizzy.  I was very dehydrated so they immediately gave me fluids. I was in such bad shape they transferred me to the ER and continued fluids until I stabilized enough to be sent to a room. Most of my blood counts were very low (White cells, red cells, platelets and hemoglobin) so they started the fluids and gave me shots to bring them up.. Everyone who came to my room had to wear a mask and if I walked the hall I had to wear a mask.

After I got into a room I was able to eat soft foods and meds by mouth and to get Platelets and a blood transfusion .

 Checking my blood every morning they adjusted the medications and continued antibiotics. I had many doctors seeing me including a ENT, an infection specialist, and my chemotherapy doctor who admitted he gave too big a dose of my last Chemotherapy which threw my blood counts way off. My blood counts continued to be low and they continued meds to correct them.

I must have swallowed too big of a pill which hung up in my throat and cause a lesion which caused my throat to swell and caused me to not be able to take anything by mouth.

They began giving me everything by IV. The swelling in my throat finally went down and I was able to eat and take med's by mouth, my blood counts finally came back up after many medications and I was able to be discharged on the 10 th day.

Finally when I got out I went to see the ENT who scoped my esophagus and throat and said everything looked good and clear, this was good news, because I thought that I may have had and infection which caused swelling in my esophagus.

I will go see my chemotherapy Doctor next week and will continue the Chemotherapy at a reduced dose.

Mazel has been an Angel through it all.

We will continue to stay in Pharr until my next CT scan at MD Anderson on July 10.
