Good Evening - - -
Went and saw Kay this morning and she was perky and upbeat
about everything. She had a good breakfast and was please
with everything she ate. While I was there lunch was delivered
consisting of Chicken Fingers, Mac & Cheese, Salad, Cauliflower &
Broccoli, Cake and a Soda. She did not eat it all but she did eat
quite a bit.
While there the nurse came in and disconnected her so she
could go to the bathroom, only a toot, so she did request some
prune juice. I am sure that she does not want another fleet enema.
Once she got back into bed the nurse did not hook up the IV. The
doctor is taking her off the IV and everything she needs will be
orally except for the antibiotics that she will need. She still has the
needle in the arm but when I left there was nothing hooked up to it.
Also, this was the case this evening when I went back. Kay got the
impression that she would be receiving one antibiotic drip per day.
Earlier in the morning she did receive breathing therapy. Kay also
had this in the afternoon. The hospital did draw blood and the doctor
told her that the Blood Cell count was a lot better today that yesterday.
On the elevator up to Kay's room this evening Food Service was
bringing the evening meals. Again. her appetite was good and
Kay ate the better part of half of the meal. She did save her pie for
later on this evening. The only problem she is having is that she needs
to have a nurse assist her when-ever she gets out of bed. I do wish
that they would walk her more to keep her leg muscles up to par.
The hospital is still talking about releasing her on Saturday. Again
this will depend on how well the lung clear up. We are hoping for
Saturday for Kay is bound and determined to be at a luncheon the
dancers her in the Valley organized on Sunday afternoon. Of course
I am the driver and I WILL have the last say on this. That is her
immediate goal right now along with escaping from the hospital.
She is getting better, just ask her ! ! ! !
Well, I better be going. Take care and have a great night - - - Ski's
PS: I started number my message this time starting with the letter "B"
for the third trip to the hospital. I am hoping that I do not have to go
above the number "5". Enough is enough ! ! ! !
