Thank you for contacting me with your concerns regarding H.R. 4, the FAA Reauthorization Act of 2018. I appreciate hearing your thoughts on this legislation.
This bill was introduced by Rep. Bill Shuster on April 13, 2018 and this legislation reauthorizes the Federal Aviation Administration's accounts, makes a number of changes to FAA grant programs, and amends and expands regulations related to passenger travel.
This legislation also makes a number of reforms to the manner in which federal disaster aid is dispersed and adjusts the limits of certain disaster aid programs. Furthermore, this legislation does not privatize the Air Traffic Control.
H.R. 4 passed the House of Representatives with my support on April 27, 2018. This legislation is now waiting to be debated in the Senate.
