Hi Everyone,

Well, we have had another setback.  Joe has had a cough since his surgery, which they said is normal, but it has gotten worst in the last week or so, and he has been

getting confused, see things and having bad dreams, so Sunday night about 5:00, my

daughter and granddaughter decided we should have him checked out, in case he might

have pneumonia. So we took him Into Emergency, and they ran some tests on him. I told the hospital Dr. that we were hoping we didn’t have to stay over night, because he has been in the hospital 70 days this Summer.

Anyway, they did run some tests on him and found out he does have some pneumonia in one lung, so they gave him and antibiotic IV for that, then they wanted to do a CT, because he is confused, and they saw a couple of little spots, that wasn’t real clear, so they wanted to do a MRI on Monday, so he stayed Sunday nite, they finally did the MRI later Monday afternoon, but they said we wouldn’t have the results until sometime tomorrow, so he had to stay Monday night, too.  So Tues. they finally got the results back from the MRI, and said that everything looked Okay, so they said they were sure the confusion was because of the pneumonia, anytime you have an infection in your body, it can cause confusion, he will be on the antibiotic for that thru Sunday, so hopefully when the pneumonia gets cleared up, he will be in his right mind again.  It has really been tough, because he wants to die, and he is cussing me all the time because I will not let him die. I’ll bet we heard that 200 times in the hospital in 2 days.  He don’t want me around, because he says I am always telling him what to do. It has really been a

tough few days for me, because that is not Joe Cook, and he don’t want to do anything I

ask him to do.  So yesterday afternoon, we wanted to get him out of the hospital, so he can

get back home for home therapy again, but because his legs have got really week again, we had to do a lot of talking to leave the hospital, so the only way they would let us leave, we

had to hire a Care taker to bring him home, they put him in a wheel chair in a van and brought him home and got him in the house and helped us get him in his chair. Because he can’t

hardly get him up and stand up or do any walking, my granddaughter is staying with

me for a few days to help with him, because I can’t really get him up on my own, and he

don’t really want to listen to me anyway.  So they are trying to get Home therapy started again

tomorrow, so we are praying that he will listen to the therapist and that they can get him

going again and get his strength built up and get to walking again.

 

So it seems like all we do is take a step ahead, then we end up taking 2 steps back.  So

Joe needs a lot of prayers to get him going again. I was so in hopes, he would be getting

a lot better, so we could head for Texas the middle of Dec. but now, we will just have to wait

and see what happens. Hopefully, he will be able to get back where he was real fast.

 

I hear a lot of our friends are down there already, that is great, I am just praying that we

Can be down there and out of this crazy weather real fast.
