Just a short update on Kay and her adventures. First of all I need to clarify myself. Someone last night said "Abscess" and I used this term in describing Kay's infection. I guess there is a difference between Abscess and Infection. Kay does have an infection and that is what the
doctors are treating her for.
Later last night after I send the message out the surgeon came in and checked Kay incision and was happy with the way it looked. Later that night (12:30 AM) the hospital did move Kay from the ICU to a room. She is in room 247 at Rio Grande Hospital in McAllen. They did not
move her to Houston. That to me was just plain dumb.
Earlier this morning the doctors took another x-ray and gave her a bottle of the "Yellow BomB". This is like the Green BomB but not as rough on you and it has a banana flavor. Yes it did try and clear her out. I do not know why they gave it to her for she has not had anything to eat since Saturday Night. The reason for the BomB was that the doctor/surgeon wanted to do a CT Scan on the abdomen to check on the infection. This was completed at 4:30 this afternoon. We were told today that they are going to remove every other staple from the incision after she received her pain shot. She did receive the shot around 8:30 tonight. Kay has not called me on if they have remove the staples of yet. She could be worried about waking me up or they
have not done this yet.
That is about all the information I have right now. Asking the nurse today on how long Kay would be in the hospital she did not know was had an indication that it would be Thursday at least. The surgeon was happy with the way the incision looked and all he told Kay was: Antibiotics, Antibiotics, Antibiotics. Here's hoping she does not have to have the surgery. Well, I better be going. Oh, we do have a new addition to the family. On Sunday, T-BONE was born. According to Chris and Laura mother and calf are doing fine. Kay was kind of disappointed with it being a male, but then there is nothing wrong with a nice fresh juice steak. Take care guys
and have a great day - - - Ski's
