Round Dance Friends:

At 4:40 a.m. on Monday morning, July 11, a large area of central Iowa was hit
with a
windstorm. It was a 138 mile per hour wind that lasted 30 minutes. We are
sure
that there were a few tornado funnels also involved. There are no severe
injuries or
deaths (what a miracle)!

We are in one of the more severely hit areas as we lost our machine shed, 2
barns, 1
grain bin, many trees and damage to our house. Because the machine shed took
the
biggest hit, we have damage to our machinery and one of the trucks is a total
loss.
There has been no electricity since the storm. We are told that it will be a
week to
10 days before any of us have electricity. Many of us have generators in
order to
have lights and to keep our refrigerator & freezer operating. We are burning
a lot
of diesel to keep it running.

The corn fields were blown flat to the ground. Because the stalks were not
broken
off, the corn is starting to stand up again.

It will take weeks to clean up, clear up and work with insurance adjusters.
We are
so sorry to have to cancel out of ICBDA, as we were looking forward to
attending this
year. If all goes well on our farm, we hope to attend Roundarama in early
August.
We are definitely planning on our 3 weeks in Eureka Springs in August, as all
the
storm cleanup and business should be completed by then.

We hope to see many of you on the dance floor soon.
