Subject: [EAA493] Star Party Hi All,
About 3 weeks ago we had a star party
put on by the San Angelo Astronomy Club. Actually, it is more of a planet/nebula
viewing party. They have relocated their facility to my ranch after the property
that they were on was sold. Friday we had 12 visitors including some EAA
members. Given the interest that was shown, we are planning another star party
on May 17... Weather permitting. I along with the astronomy club would
like to invite the EAA chapter to this event. We'll meet at my house about
8:15pm and then drive down in a few vehicles to the viewing site. There will be
a number of telescopes available and no shortage of sky knowledge that can be
gained from the members of the astronomy club who are eager to assist you in
viewing . I think you all will find it quite interesting. As we get closer to
the 17th, I will post updates as to the time and weather forecasts for viewing
conditions.
5/5/14: Currently, the viewing
forecast is good for our star party. So that we can plan adequately, I would
like to request an RSVP by May 14th.
Thank you.
See you there,
Gerry
