I am not sure this is going out to everyone on the Alamo Reflector.  I hope so.  Update on mom:  she is doing remarkably well.  She was accepted into the accelerated rehab program at Mercy West Campus in Mason City.  She has physical therapy 3 hrs a day plus Occupational and Speech therapy.  She had a stroke that affected her left side.  A lot of the original deficits have come back.  She is able to walk with the walker to the bathroom now.  Her left arm and hand are her weakest areas.  Dressing herself is a real chore.  Her attitude couldn't be better.  She is her sharp feisty self.  Calling me and giving me orders of what needs to be done and making sure Justin is getting the farm work done.  She told me last night that one of the therapists knows how to play cribbage so I need to bring a cribbage board and she needs a smaller paperback book to read (she was reading Oppenheimer which is a heavy 600+ page book) and too heavy to manage.  The therapist told her yesterday they anticipate her being in rehab 2-3 weeks before going home.  Thank you for calls and prayers.  Bev Fabeer

Helen has moved out of the hospital to the West Campus for rehab!!  This is her address:    Helen Faber  Mercy Medical Center.....West Campus  Room 221......910 N Eisenhower......Mason City, Iowa  50401  Prayers are working, Helen can talk and is her feisty self!!  Thank goodness!!  Wouldn't want her any other way!!!
