Hi Everybody,

 

Joe had his heart surgery, Tuesday.  He was scheduled to check in at 10:00, Tues. They got him all ready for surgery by 11:15, he was scheduled

to be taken down the surgery at 11:50, which he was all ready to go. Ended up the surgery before took longer, so we waited 2 ½ hrs., they

finally took him down to surgery at 2:30.  That was a little upsetting.  Anyway, the surgery went fine, everything went just as they planned,

His Dr. said his new valve was working great.  He finally got back to his room after surgery at 7:00. He was pretty much out of it, he did wake up

enough to know that my Daughter and Granddaughters & one of their husbands, and our little great Grandson, was all there to see him.

He had a good nights sleep and when he woke up Wed. morning,  one of the first things he said, he could tell his breathing was so much better.

Also, his color was so much better, you could tell that the new valve had made a big difference already. 

 

They did not put him on dialysis Tues. night after surgery, said his vital signs were all good, so decided not to do it for one night.  So when the Dr. come In to see him the morning, we ask if there was any chance of being able to go home later in the afternoon,  so he could be back on his own dialysis machine that night, he said he would have him do some therapy treatments, to see how he was doing, and it turned out, he passed all 3 of them with flying colors, so after all the paper work, we did get to go home.  Got home around 7:00.  So what a big relief, the surgery is all over with and was a great success.  Hope to know in a few days, how long before he can travel.

 

We want to thank all of you so much, for all the prayers, cards, and phone calls. I know those prayers really do work. We are so blessed to have so many wonderful friends and family.  Especially, all of our Alamo Paradise Park friends.  We love you, and will send an update  when we know more.
