Hi Everybody,

We want to say Hi to all of our Alamo Paradise Family.

Some of you know that we aren’t sure when we will be able to come to Texas, because Joe has to have heart surgery.

The last 2 Monday’s we have been at the University of Iowa Hospitals, they have been doing tests on him.

The first Monday, we talked to three surgeons, they explained all about the Surgery, then they done a CT on his heart and

a CT on his veins. Then last Monday, we were there for 6 hours, they done a heart catherization on his Heart to make sure

it was the same as 2 years ago. It was the same as 2 years ago, all of his arteries are clear, but the problem is the Aortic Valve is

not working right, he has Aortic Stenosis, so they are going to do the Tvar surgery, will go in his leg and go up thru his veins

and put in a new valve. Two years ago when they checked his heart, they said it was only working 20 to 25%.

So we have been waiting for a call to find out when his surgery is going to be, so we finally got the call today.  We have to be down

at the Univ. of Ia. Hospitals on next Thurs. Nov. 29th, to go over the procedure etc. We have 4 appointments that day at the hospital.

So all we know right now is they have scheduled him for surgery on Tues. December 11th.  Don’t know anything else now,

we will find out next Thurs. the time of surgery etc.

Joe has been on Peritoneal Dialysis for about 3 months now, he does his own dialysis at home every nite will sleeping, and it

is working really good for him, so much better than what he went thru in Texas last winter.

The only problem he has had now, he is so tired all the time and has no energy, some days he can hardly keep his eyes open

and gets dizzy spells ever now and then, so they think it is his heart causing that, because by being on Home dialysis, he should

have his life back and feel really good like before dialysis.

So we are praying for him to get through this surgery okay, then can get his energy built back up, so he can have a normal life

again, and be able to do some wood working, etc. I have had to do a lot of upbeat talking to him, about things will get better,

because he goes through spells, where he gets so down, he just wants to die.

So please keep Joe in your prayers, that he gets through surgery okay, and get his energy built up.

Joe & I want to wish everyone a very Happy Thanksgivings, and don’t eat to much, and enjoy your warm weather down there.

We had 2 ½ inches of snow last Friday night. It’s only been in the 20’s since then and in the teen’s at night. So it is cold and

windy. Suppose to be in the 40’s Thurs. Fri. & Sat. That will feel like a heat wave.

We wish we were there with you all.  God Bless.

Joe & Clara
