It was a photo finish and Dave and Joan Long were in the stands cheering for 
their granddaughter, Savanah Long, who took the Class 3A Illinois State 
Championship, in the 300 meter hurdles.  Her time was 43.34 , 2nd place winner 
came in at 43.41! I'm sure they are wondering and repeating once again   "Where 
did that white girl come from"!!  She became the 
third DeKalb track and field athlete to win a state championship in school 
history, and she also placed sixth in the 100-meter hurdles. Savanah is petite, 
5' 2" and runs like the wind, says proud Grandpa and Grandma Long!! Congrats to 
Savanah and all of the Long family!
