Good Evening - - -
This will be short and sweet. It is late and I am tired and
I need to get up
early tomorrow. Besides that there is really not all that
much to report.
Saw Kay this morning and she was doing good. Her room was
cold, not
cool, and I did talk to the nurse about it. Earlier tonight
when I was visiting
her I check on the heat and was told that the Air
Conditioner/Heat Pump was
bad. They asked if I wanted her moved and checking with Kay
we elected to
move to Room ____. If this is not filled in by the time I
send this it will be that
Kay did not call me to confirm the room number. The room is
on the same
across the hall about two doors down. When I check the room
out the
thermostat was set at 75 and I swear that you could of place
a few wet rocks
in there and made it a sauna. I was warm to say the least
which will be to
Kay's liking.
Earlier today she was up walking and the nurse was worried
that she was getting
tired and wanted to know if Kay wanted to sit down. Kay told
her she was good
and wanted to finish the walk. After that while she was
walking she blew out her
IV and had to have another one put in. When I called her she
was to the point of
tears knowing that it was going to hurt. When I got there
tonight she was all bruised
up in the arms from them trying to catch a vain for the
IV. The nurses ended up
giving her a pick in the arm between the elbow and shoulder
and she was feeling
good about that. The wound care nurse told Kay if she ever
needed a IV again to
insist on the Pick for her vain cannot handle it.
I could not go into the room while the nurses were doing the
pick so I went to the
cafeteria for a cup of coffee. When I got back she was
sitting up eating dinner. She
was complaining that she would defiantly have to order
breakfast for this morning
they gave her "grits". She was not happy for you only buy
grits to give to the "Fire
Ants". That my dear friends is the only thing that grits are
good for, according to Kay.
I am staying out of this ! ! !
When I left the "Happy Shot" was taking effect and she was
getting drowsy. I have t
talked to her a couple of time tonight as she sounds OK. She
has talked to the kids,
calling them, and chewing the fat (I cannot resist this but
it some of the fat the doctors
left during the surgery). At 10 tonight when I called she
still had not been moved but t
the Charge Nurse was in the room asking Kay if she wanted to
be moved and she told
her yes. She is hoping they can get the other room cleaned
and moved in the next hour.
Well, that's about it for now so I guess I better be going.
Take care and have a great night
Ski's
PS: The room that they were going to move Kay to when I was
there was Room 259 but I
am not sure if that is still the plan. Someone could of came
in after I left and received the
room before Kay was moved. If you want to talk to her you
might want to contact her by
her cell phone at 956.460.7520.
