Good Afternoon - - -Just a quick update on how Kay is doing. She is doing good but not as good as she wanted to be doing. The doctor this morning gave her the good (?) news that
she could be staying a little longer. They said somewhere from Tuesday orWednesday maybe even Thursday. Don't know for sure yet for it will depend on how she does. She was not all that happy but then she gets mad at herself for being tired and sleepy know that she is not ready to leave just yet. I do not want to leave tomorrow for there is another front coming in here and it is suppose to be worse than the last one. Houston is already pre-positioning equipment to keep the roads drivable. Now for the news on Kay. This morning she was eating solids. This consisted of scrambled eggs, hash brown potatoes, and fruit cocktail this morning. This afternoon she ordered an egg sandwich and some other stuff. Cannot remember right now with my old age. She does have the option to order pizza, sub's, and regular meals now. One thing the doctor told her was to eat frequently, like ever two hours, instead of the normal three big meals. Drink lots of fluid, like she hasn't been told that before, and a lot of protein and fiber. I am going to Sam's and buy the big economy size container
for the doctors do not want her straining going to the bathroom. The wound care nurse came in and was going to change the drainage bag but Kay had her hold off so she could either get a sponge bath or a shower. She did take the shower. This
did tire her and when I left she was nodding off to sleep. She did call me a little bit ago to tell me her aunt called and she felt good about that. She also
told that she did walk and now was getting ready to eat her dinner. She still has the drainage tube to the stomach and it is still passing out fluids. We were told not to worry about this for this was natural with the cavity that was left with the removal of the bladder. I did notice that her urine bag was getting better looking if urine could look good. It more yellow without the red tint of blood. So far everything is working Great - except - - The other day she was trying to answer some of the messages she received and it just did not work. Being the trained typist that she was in her youth she has a nature habit of setting her fingers on the keys of the typewriter. Every time she would look at the message she would have three or more lines of gibberish on the screen. Those keys would just start running. Anyway after 30 minutes of typing three lines on the tablet she gave up. Guy's I am sure she is going to want to answer you, just give her time. I did not bring the laptop with for her to use in the hospital and I just brought the desk top that is an all in one; screen and processor together. I need that here. Well, I better be going. I want to catch the 3:30 shuttle back to the hospital. Take care and I will
try and send something out tomorrow sometime - - - Ski's
