What a loss for the world of dance!
Patti Wheelington was found shot dead on her own front porch, discovered by Barbara Ricketts & Phyllis Nabors about 5:30 pm today (tuesday, Dec. 3) after not being able to make contact with Patti via phone for an indeterminate time period. Three shell casings were found on the porch. We just talked with Barbara who is staying with friends due to her fear of danger from the suspect. Barbara just finished giving her statement to the police at the Bi-state justice building, downtown Texarkana, and is now with friends. Harriette is talking to her on her phone at this moment. (10:30 PM tonight)
There is a suspect in the murder; there are several square and round dancers that are in fear for their lives due to some recent problems with a certain club member.
Please pray for all of Patti's friends and dancing buddies and hope this tragedy is not expanded! Patti is survived by her deceased brothers' daughter who lives in Germany, and an uncle in the states, as the only surviving relatives.
