I want to pass this on to you also. We have learned that Bill
Mykitta had a stroke in early part of July. This was caused by
an aneurysm in the brain that ruptured. The doctors had to shave
Bill's head during his treatment. It is funny to see him with
that butch haircut that Jacque likes. Anyway, it was touch and go
for quite a while and there was one point where the doctors turned
his respirator off and told the family to make his final
arrangements. Bill suprised everyone and started breathing on his
own and got stronger day by day. Bill was in re-hab for almost
two months. While in re-hab they had to teach him how to feed
himself, swallow his food and drink, walk, and dress himself. He
is doing great now. Bill is using a cane when he walks but that
is only to steady himself. He is hoping to get back into dancing
real soon.
We saw Bill and Jacque on the 9th of September. Bill had just
been released from re-hab. Bill wanted to come to the Dixie Round
Dance Council dance that night but we talked him into waiting till
Saturday night after he had some rest and there would be more
people there that night for him to see. They stayed at the dance
until almost the end before Bill seemed to tire.
Below is the latest message I received Jacque and wanted to
forward it on to you. Thanks for getting this one out also.

From: Jacque Benderman Subject: Bill at Home! Date: Thu, 22 Sep 2011 08:11:47 -0400 Dear Ones
PRAISE THE LORD and then some everything has gone beautifully having Bill at home. He saw Dr. Lisa yesterday and she was pleased with every aspect of his recovery. She did not change any of the medicine prescribed by the physician at the Life Care Center, except she agreed with his taking the amaryl rather than insulin shots.
He is walking every day unless we have other activities scheduled. Both Lisa and Elouise are delighted with his exercise. He goes to bed pretty early, but he says he has always needed a lot of sleep. I probably had him too active for years before his stroke hope I didnt add to his problem. This evening Ray Donohoo, wonderful square dance caller, and a group of our dear friends will be dancing at the Life Care Center. Some of the folks there are anxious to see twinkle toes Bill perform. Keep praying, especially that Bill soon will be able to drive. That seems to be the only thing bothering him now. We are so very blessed. God bless you, much love and good morning, Jacque ____________________________________________________________ |
