So far this week Lila is feeling great.  Everyday, she feels a little better and stronger.  Her last blood test report showed that her body is making good blood cells.  On Monday they installed the port in her chest.  This has been a little sore, but not any real problem.  She was at the hospital for almost 12 hours Monday.  We went back to the hospital on Wednesday and met with the stem cell team and doctor.

Everything is a "go" for the stem cell transplant.  We have a date---Lila will be admitted to the hospital on April 21, 2011, she will receive chemo for 4 days, rest a day and on April 27th, they will infuse the stem cells.

She will be in the hospital until about May 20 or 21st.  Lila's daughter, Debbie is planning to come and stay with Lila while she is in the hospital.

If all goes as planned, Lila will be released from the hospital to return to the RV park on or about the above date.   Someone must to stay with her all the time for the first month.  I can not leave her to go shopping. So, Lila's three sisters have agreed to take turns and will help take care of Lila for this first month out of the hospital.  The Rv is a little cramped for three people for an extended time.  We are going to rent a 2 bedroom mobile home for Lila and her sisters for this first month.  We understand that Lila will need to go the hospital almost every day for this first month.

We must stay within 25 miles or the hospital for the first 100 days following the transplant.  It may be early August before we are free to leave Houston and start our summer travels.

Lila has 4 different appointment at the hospital for tomorrow (Friday) including a bone marrow test.  Will be another long day at the hospital.

So far, we have only 2 appointments at the hospital next week.  Not sure what we will do with all that extra time.

More later--bob
