NOTE- This is an e-mail I received from Carol Mitchell (Sue Rileyâs Daughter) â..Gene

--------------------------------------------------------------

Just to let all the friends of Bob and Sue Riley know that Sue passed away recently. So much of her life was centered around dancing. She loved everything about it, the music, the movement, the beauty, the friendships, the laughter and the challenge.ÂMonth after month for over twenty years,Âshe tried to capture that excitement and send it along to all in theÂURDC newsletter. ÂSheÂalways felt blessed for having a life so full of family and dance. Never happier than when she was dancing three or four times a week and double sessions on weekends. I want to send on her love to all.

Sue's daughter,

SUZANNE RILEY, 85, died March 16, 2011, at Bethesda Memorial Hospital in Boynton Beach, FL. Born in Quincy, MA, she is survived by her beloved husband of 69 years, Robert Riley, her two daughters, Judith Fontaine of Bradenton, FL and Carol Mitchell of Boynton Beach, FL, seven grand children and 24 great-grand children. After serving as a community news correspondent in Quincy, MA, Sue was the first female to join the editorial staff of the Patriot Ledger and, after moving to FL, worked as an editor at the Sun Sentinel in Ft. Lauderdale.

ÂAn avid dancer, she was a pioneer in the formation of the URDC, Universal Round Dance Council, where she wrote and published the monthly newsletter for over twenty-five years. Sue and Bob served on the URDC Executive Board for many years and received its Golden Torch Award for dedicated service to the movement.ÂÂ Still dancing locally until a few months ago, Sue and Bob were members of Castoffs Square Dance Club and Sue was a regular contributor to the Bow and Swing newsletter.

A loving wife and mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, a trusted sender of cards, a knitter of mittens, afghans, sweaters and hats, Suzanne will be missed and celebrated by those who loved and knew her well.

Services will be held Monday, April 11 at the South Florida VA National Cemetery, 6501 State Road 7, Lake Worth, FL at 11:30 am with a Remembrance Gathering to follow at 12:30 pm in Palm Beach Leisureville, at Clubhouse 2, 1800 SW Congress Blvd, corner of SW 18th St. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Hospice of Palm Beach or the Cancer Research Institute.
