Hi Gene &
Jean, Â Thank you for
your note which is very encouraging to us Japanese. Â Good news
(!!) ... we finally had a phone call from our son and
daughter-in-law 3 hours ago (4 days after the
earthquake!), from which we found they are doing OK. In
order to make the phone call to us, they had to drive 2
hours to get to a big town where spcial free phone service
is provided for sufferer. They still don'tÂget electric
power and water supply, no home and cell phone service
yetÂsince the disaster, but surviving with their neighbors
sharing foods and blankets. We still cannot visitÂour son
and his wifeÂas train service is not yet provided and
highwaysÂare shut off. Â Just for your
information, we had to cancel Japan Round Dance Convention
which has been scheduled from March 18th thru 20th in
Tokyo area due to damageÂof the hotel facility by the
earthquke. Moreover, many of Japanese teachers and
dancers including us lost theirÂeagernessÂto carry on
because ofÂthe shockÂby that huge disaster.
