When the earthquake broke out, I, Kenji, was at home and saw many books and CDs fell down from shelves. In the morning Noubuko went out for shopping in downtown Tokyo, and she had just got off the train at Hanno Station where we live after shopping. TV report says all the train became not operational right after the earthquake and will not be in operation until tomorrow morning. If Nobuko were to take next train, she won't be able to get back home until tomorrow. We were both lucky. Aftershocks keep coming many times - more than 10 times! We tried to talk with our son and his wife on the phone to make sure they are OK because they live in Iwate Prefecture which is the closed area from the hypocenter. However, all phone calls are now restricted only to emergency governmental and other official calls - no private phone calls. We still don't know how they are doing, and we will keep trying to contact with them. Cross your fingers for us. We have many good round dance friends out there, and we of course worry about them very much. We however have no mean to contact with them at this moment. We might have to wait awhile until everything starts settle down. Thank you again for your concern on behalf of our friends in nothern part of Japan.
