Subject: Lila update---2/4/2011--good news On Tuesday, She went in for a lung test and passed. Her lungs are doing great. On Wednesday, she went in for a blood test, review and visit with her doctor. We received some really good news. The doctor was very pleased with her blood reports. The results from last 3 spinal taps were all good. Her read blood cells are normal. Her white blood cells still has a few cells that are not good, but are very close to being in the normal range. The doctor wants her to have one more round of chemo and if everything still looks good, we go to the Stem Cell Transplant. This is much quicker that we thought when we went into this treatment plan. On today, (Friday) she went in for a blood test and review. We met with the PA and she said that Lila's bone marrow is working fairly well, well enough that she does not need any more tranfussions for now. In fact, they took her off of 3 of the medications that she has been on for the last few weeks. Lila has a blood test and review appointment for next Monday. The PA said that she can cancel this appointment unless she is not feeling well. Her next appointments are next Wednesday, 2/9. She has a 12:00 appointment for a blood test and review and a 2:00 appointment with the Stem Cell Transplantion doctor. The not so good news on the Stem Cell Transplant, all three of Lila's sisters have been tested. Any three of them are not a good match for a transplant for Lila. So, the hospital is checking the national list of doners. The National List of Doners brings up an interestering subject. I have never been tested and would bet that very few receiving these e-mails have been tested. I think that I will get tested in the near future, maybe I could be a match for someone out there.
