----- Original Message ----- How about
the above date????Lila is doing great. She is feeling stronger every day. She is walking and exercising every day while she is home,(in the RV). We spent a long day at the hospital last Friday. We went in for a 8:00 appointment for a blood test, but it was about 8:30 before they drew blood. We then had a 9:00 appointment with the doctor. We saw the doctor at about 10:45. The doctor advised that her blood test looked good, she is making blood on her own. Good news!!!! However, the doctor advised that the report on the last spinal tap worried him. He wanted another spinal tap. That was to happen at 1:30. We went lunch and found a place where Lila could lay down and rest for a while. We were at the appointed place at 1:30 but was closer to 2:30 before she was called in for the test. We got out of the hospital at about 4:00. We will get the results of this last spinal tap tomorrow, (Wed.) Two of three of Lila's sisters flew in from Denver into Houston last night. I went to the airport, OMG the Bush International Airport is a big place. Had not idea where I needed to go our how to get there. Found a parking space and waited until one of them called and we agreed on what door to meet. I all worked out great but think it was more luck than skill on my part. We hope that the third sister can come to visit while we are here in Houston. The two sisters are planning on giving platelets while they are here. Today, Lila and sisters are out wig shopping. Lila had lost most of her hair. What was left we cut off with clippers. She looks better with no hair than with what little she had left. Tomorrow will be another busy day at the hospital for Lila. She is planning on taking the 7:00 shuttle from the park to the hospital. Then when the sisters are ready, I will take them to the hospital and they will spend the rest of the day at the hospital will Lila. My doctor appointment that was scheduled for today has been changed until noon Wednesday. It is cool and windy today. Partly cloudy, but not rain and no SNOW or ICE. We paid for another month of rent at the RV park yesterday. The electric bill for 24 days was $158. Also filled the propane tank last week. Took only 8 gallon of propane, but they charged $4 a gallon delivered to the RV park. The sisters fly out of Houston on Thursday morning. I get another shot at the Bush Airport, joy-joy-joy!!! Lila goes into the hospital next Monday for round #2 for her treatments. This round of treatments will be shorter, but have been told that the chemo will be stronger. Please keep the prayers and cards coming. That's all of now. Bob |
