Subject: Nelson?s Update

 

Larry?s mother is scheduled to have a pacemaker implanted tomorrow (Thursday).   She is considered a healthy candidate, especially at the age of 89.   However, do to her age; she will be in a nursing home for up to 2 weeks.    Our kids will see to it that she gets settled back home (even though they live 2 hours away).  

 

Our intention ?now? is to be in the Valley for New Years.    We hope to leave right after Christmas.   (We have not been home for Christmas for 15 years!) 

 

We are extremely grateful to Karen & Ed Gloodt for substituting for us.   We feel a sense of guilt for not being with you in Texas, but our sense of guilt would be even worse if we were not home to take care of our mother.  

 

Our area of Iowa had an EPIC snow storm last week.   We had 14 inches of snow in 24 hours with huge snowdrifts and very low temperatures.    We have had to be plowed out 2 times so far.   

 

Thank you for you notes and calls of concern.    Also, it is nice to know that we are missed.
