Below are some messages about Wayne Chapman.  The first message is from
Becky (Wayne & Pat's daughter) to Mike Corning.  And the second message is from the Ski's, after talking to
Wayne and Pat this morning.  This could be confusing because some of the messages might be conflicting
since things are chaining as time goes by.  We are sending the most current information that we have received.

FROM BECKY TO MIKE CORNNG

Mike and Peggy, my parents asked me to email you an update and asked if
you would please update the other friends for them.  I know you talked
to them before, so you know that Daddy had a very light stroke and is in
the hospital at Scott and White.  He's having surgery tomorrow
(Saturday) morning. The surgeon said that if it had been a stronger
stroke, they would have probably put him on blood thinners and waited
several weeks.  But since it was a LIGHT stroke, it's better to do this
now before anything has a chance to get worse.

The surgery will be at 8:30 tomorrow morning, for about 2 1/2 hours,
then he'll be in the recovery room for about 3 hours, and will probably
go home (to the RV) Sunday.  They'll need to be back to have his
stitches out in 2 weeks, so will probably stay around until at least
then, and since his neck will probably be too sore to drive, maybe
longer..

They don't have internet access, except that Daddy can receive emails on
the TV in his room, if you send emails to ewc102832 [at] gmail.com.

I just got a flight and will be there tomorrow afternoon until Tuesday.
They are in good spirits and appreciate your prayers!
Thank you!
Becky

MESSAGE FROM THE Ski's

We have just talked to Wayne Chapman and here is the latest news.   Wayne & Pat are in Temple Texas for some follow up checkups this week which all come out good.  They were having Lunch at Crackerbarrel in Temple on Thurs afternoon when Wayne didn't feel well.  Within 30 minutes he was in Scott & White Hospital and they had diagnosed him as having a Mini-Stroke or TIA.  He was stable and no after effects but they kept him and ran tests on him all day Friday.  They diagnosed him as having some blockage in the corroded artery.  He was scheduled to have surgery this morning but an emergency came in so as 10:30 he was still waiting for his turn- now they are aiming for 12:30.     The surgery will last about 2 1/2 hours and he will be in recovery for about 3.  He was in good spirits.  Pat is with him and their daughter is flying in from California this afternoon.     They are unable to receive any e-mails on their computer as this time so we are asking everyone just to keep both Wayne and Pat in your thoughts and prayers.  We will forward more information as we receive it.  Also we have had trouble talking to them on the cell phone in the hospital both yesterday & today.  We advise to hold off on trying to reach them phone.  their cell phones  are intermittent  reception
