A Judy Moore Update:
Thanks to all of you who have sent cards, emails, and calls and to all
those who have held her in your thoughts and prayers. Judy has made some
amazingly great strides in recovering from the stroke she suffered on September
12. Her initial response was very rapid, so rapid that she was discharged from
the hospital on the 14th. She quickly recovered all of her strength and
control of her right side (the one affected). Her speech is returning a little
more slowly. She is very conversant but must speak a little more slowly and has
an occasional difficulty recalling a word. Speech therapy is helping and will
continue for a while.
We are back to dancing and teaching; however, our practice sessions are not
as intense or as long as before. She still has periods of feeling out of sorts
and tires a little more quickly but we understand this is normal for a period of
time following such a traumatic insult to the brain. None the less, we both feel
so very blessed for her to be where she is in the recovery process. We are most
fortunate to have only one more scheduled event this year which will give
us some additional time to really take it easy and concentrate on the recovery
process. But, we will be gently working on choreography for next year.
Again, thank all of you for your well wishes and concern. They are very
much appreciated.
