As I understand it, Jim got original plans of the P-38 from the Smithsonian and 
started to work.  The cockpit is a little larger than 2/3 scale and even at 
that, it it mighty small and never intended for a passenger. But, passenger and 
builder Mitz was.  You can see her head in this pic sitting behind Jim. Don 
Treadwell, a long time chapter 493 member and young Eagles coordinator, took 
this picture.  I think we were on our way home from Ruidoso when Don took this 
picture.  I'll send a couple along as well.  Mitz was an active and essential 
part of the design and build process. .
