EAA493 Mailing List: Powder coating

Thanks to everyone who suggested possible powder coating businesses in the San Angelo area. Rough Country and Double Barrel Fabrications are in the same location and so are a little difficult to compare in price. When I arrived the man who came out to greet me was Wes Russell, who owns Rough Country and leases out space to Double Barrel Fabrications. He agreed to have the engine mount sand blasted and call me to check for cracks. The sand blasting was carefully accomplished with a very small "tooth" or roughness applied to the frame so the powder coating would adhere better.  Adding the same texture helps paint adhere also. He charged $100 plus tax which I thought was very reasonable. I thought the quality of the finished engine mount looked very good also. 

I plan to attend tomorrow's EAA Chapter 493 meeting in the Mathis Field Terminal meeting room at 7pm.
