I think I heard one of the pilots say they were at 100 knots.  Guess this gives them more time to react, plus extra power for the outside guy in a turn.

RV-6 is the photo ship?  Is that because it was faster? I suppose the Bonanzas let the RV pass them.  And to think all these pilots fought traffic jams all the way from work to the airport so they could enjoy the closeness of formation flight with 109 other pilots.

Fun to watch, but don’t think I want to try it!

 

Judy and I are going to Monahans Saturday.  Anyone else?  I want to play with my new Dual ADS-B receiver.  Finally decided to go that route and cancel my XM subscription with Garmin.  I drove partway to Mertzon a couple of days ago (there is a ADS-B tower near Mertzon) and played with it a bit, but anxious to try it in the air.
