I agree with Don Smucker's motion below.

My vote, assuming our finances are about what was reported last time (balance over $1500), is that we should make a substantial contribution - this is a worthy cause - of say 1/2 of the cost up to a max of say $350 for our contribution.

Dear Chapter 493,

See email below.  Bob Reece has proposed that the chapter pay for

1/2 the expense of the Memorial Wall OR

1/3 the expense of the Memorial Wall

for Leon York, EAA #57. We need to all reply to this motion as soon as possible so we can participate with the York family in having Leon installed on the wall of honor. In your reply state how much you want the chapter to give, one-half or one-third of the cost.

If you prefer a less public ballot you can call me or email me your vote.

I received a phone call this morning from EAA HQ. They were asking about Leon and the possibility of putting him on the Wall. They didn’t have any contact for the family. They only had me and I told them I would contact Nancy. I did and she was interested, very much so, and gave me her cell number. I forwarded it to Oshkosh for them to call Nancy. They ask me if our local chapter was intending to pitch in and help with the costs. I told them that we had not discussed the matter. I think the cost is around $350 dollars. I think our chapter can help with this. I told Nancy that if she could not go for the event, I would represent her and make a tracing of the ingravment on the wall. She said that would be nice.

I would like for you and all members to respond to Don with your likes or not. My personal idea is to contribute at least one third to one half.

For those that might not know or remember Leon was a very early EAA member #57.

Thanks,

Bob Reece
