I have an even better one. Back in the 1070's
I was taking off in a CAP C-172 when the guy in the right seat suddenly yelled
out "Snake". I started looking around the cockpit for
the snake. "No", he said "There"
pointing to the front. There was a snake coming out of the cowling
just behind the prop. He came out further and further until only the tip
of his
tail was holding on to the front of the
cowling. Then he finally let go and hit the windshield.
The plane had been flown the evening before, so
apparently the snake crawled up into the still warm engine. Then when the
engine began to get hot on takeoff, he decided to exit.
