Â
On Saturday, 8 February 2014, we will host a celebration of National Weathermanâs Day at the San Angelo Amateur Radio Club facility on Stewart Lane, Mathis Field, San Angelo, TX.
Â
This annual event honors weathermen and women who work tirelessly to accurately predict the weather. February the 5th commemorates the birth of John Jeffries, one of Americaâs first weathermen. Jeffries was born on February 5th 1744 and kept weather records from 1774 to 1816.
Â
We would like to invite any and all interested persons to visit our facility and help honor the men and women who observe and predict the weather. Our local National Weather Service personnel, as well as personnel from the West Texas Weather Modification Association, will be in attendance. This is a great opportunity for you to visit with our local weather personnel and to become involved in contacting other hams nationwide via our Special Event Station.
Â
The hours of operation are from 9:00 AM until 2:00 PM and complimentary food and refreshments will be served beginning at 12:00 PM. Please plan to celebrate National Weathermanâs Day with us on Saturday.
