In honor of International Childhood Cancer Day last Thursday, I wanted to take a moment to share an awesome new map showing the reach of the amazing research that you have helped make happen. I believe you and your whole event community will interested to see the new St. Baldrick’s funding map!

 

 

What does $232 million, 1249 grants, 27 countries look like? Since 2005, St. Baldrick’s has invested over $232 MILLION in childhood cancer research grants, worldwide. When you give to St. Baldrick’s, you don’t just give to one institution – you give to more than 373 institutions that are treating kids with cancer across the U.S. and beyond. Here is the link to our funding map so you can see how your support has fueled research around the world.

How to use the map: The map is a self-contained file, meaning you can only navigate within the document. To do so, please start at the global view, drill into a specific country outlined and then utilize the map icons on the top right-hand side to jump between countries, states and cities.

 

What do the images represent? There are three different drop pins on the map, indicating:

 

Blue Pin- institution that have received direct funding via our diversification of grant types.

 

Green Pin: a COG institution whereby pediatric clinical trials are being supported by SBF funding.

Gold Stars: these locations are members of our SBF- Stand Up 2 Cancer Dream Team; a group of nine institutions focused on combining genomics and immunotherapy to discover treatments for many of the most difficult to cure childhood cancers.
