Gene has had complications to his hip replacement. After his surgery, to repair the fracture, he suffered in the fall, after his replacement, MRSA has developed. He is on antibiotics to clear up this infection, he will be in the hospital for sure until Wed when a decision is made. If the infection clears by Wed he may just go home and receive a daily infusion of meds, if not they may do more surgery, remove the new hip, keep it out for a period while they cleanse the wound area with antibiotics. Then reimplant the new hip sometime down the road. That's about the best explanation I can come up with. He called last night, was still in pretty good spirits but sick of dealing with all this of course. Send him your best. Gerry needs your support as well.
